Rosslynd Piggott: Garden Fracture / Mirror in Vapour: Part 1

VeniceArtFactory / Veniceinabottle presents “Garden Fracture / Mirror in Vapour: Part 1″ by Rosslynd Piggott, the first solo show in Venice of one of the most renowned Australian artist. After three years of collaboration and patient work in Murano, the artist presents a series of glass works realized in collaboration with a glass master specialized in the engraving technique in dialogue with an installation of drawings.

Her works are created through an unusual and fascinating stratification of glass plates engraved with images of beautiful magnolia flowers, enchanting wisteria, and budding cherry blossoms superimposed in several layers. In a notion of transparency and permeable glaze, her gardens of imagination try to create a transition into another potential state.

Rosslynd Piggott was born in Melbourne in 1958; she currently lives and works in Melbourne. Her work has received wide acclaim, having been represented in over 50 important solo exhibitions and numerous group shows, both nationally and internationally.
