The Collection Of Mr. X, the Man Who Lived 500 Years

Curated by Joana P. R. Neves, the group exhibition features works by four contemporary artists related to the vicissitudes of the mysterious Mr. X

Alberta Pane, Calle dei Guardiani, Dorsoduro 2403/h, 30123, Venice, Italy

The group exhibition “The collection of Mr. X, the man who lived 500 years” at Alberta Pane gallery, Venice, bases its premise on a parallel world. The artworks by Gabriela Albergaria, Kiluanji Kia Henda, Nicolás Robbio, and João Vilhena are all related to Mr. X, an imaginary immortal character, whose identity remains unknown.

The exhibition tells the life story of the exceptional Mr. X on the occasion of his 500th birthday, gathering together the authors of the latest works that he acquired in his art collection. To include them, he wrote to each one a letter, asking the artists to pick one of their creations for the exhibition.
