The exhibition “Toni Fontanella. I luoghi dell’anima. Opere 1932 – 2000” at Istituzione Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa Palazzetto Tito presents a selection of works by one of the most relevant Venetian artists.
Through his artistic language, Fontanella expresses his life philosophy, which leans towards receiving and reflecting upon external events that have an impact on ourselves.
Leaving the studio to paint from life becomes a constant commitment, destination the different corners of the Venetian lagoon which thus becomes a privileged, almost exclusive subject, on hardboard or on canvas. In his paintings, the lagoon becomes a rediscovered world: a precious, intense, and tranquil place where the only permissible noise is represented by the rhythmic weaving of fishermen’s boats.
