Veronika Psotková: Perpetuo
Curators: Robert Janás, Linda K. Sedláková
Veronika Psotková’s site-specific installation “Perpetuo” transforms the space of a Renaissance church into a gateway between the real, spiritual, and virtual worlds. It builds on the tradition of classical sculpture while reflecting the aesthetics and communication style of social networks, materialising in a never-ending loop of fleeting images, presentations of exterior appearances, and digital control. Visitors enter this loop and become part of it. Despite its internal steel structure, the installation appears light and airy, thanks to sculptures made from hand-stitched metallic netting. This original sculptural technique was developed by Veronika Psotková and brought to a breathtaking form. “Perpetuo” reinvents historical architecture and opens a dialogue between the past and the present.
