Xenia Hausner: Stranger Things

Revered Austrian artist presents five large new paintings that explore ideas of exile, migration, and rootlessness in subtle connection with the Venice Biennial’s general theme. Consistent with her entire oeuvre, the intensity of Hausner’s palette strengthens her staged narrations in which female characters embody all genders and play various roles.
