Au sein du lac Léman – Miniaturmalerei aus der französischen Schweiz

A selection of miniatures from the rich fund of the Foundation Jakob Briner and the donation of Dr. Emil S. Kern introduces artists who usually supported by Geneva from their skill in the art centers of Europe and to the New World.

The decisive factor was the watch production in Geneva in the 18th century. The miniature painting show the highest level of manufacturing. The exhibition focuses on works by Jean-Etienne Liotard (1702-1789), David Boudon (1748-1816), Louis-Ami Arlaud-Jurine (1751-1829), François Ferrière (1752-1839), Pierre-Louis Bouvier (1765 1836), Jean-François Soiron (1765-1812), Firmin Massot (1766-1849) and Salomon Guillaume Counis (1785-1859).
