Igor Mitoraj: tra Terra e Mare
The monumental sculptures by the Polish artist are on view on the Tuscan seaside
During summer 2020, a selection of monumental sculptures by the Polish artist Igor Mitoraj is on view at Bagno Alpemare, a beach club on the Tuscan coasts owned by the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. “Igor Mitoraj: tra Terra e Mare” (Igor Mitoraj: Between Earth and Sea) features the Polish sculptor’s works immersed in the pine forest nearby the seaside. The Versilia region holds a special connection with the artist, who used to collect the raw materials and hire the craftsmen for his projects here in this area. In 1983, Mitoraj also opened a studio in Pietrasanta, impressed by the Tuscan environment.
The exhibition was organised by Galleria Contini of Venice and Cortina d’Ampezzo, in collaboration with Atelier Mitoraj and under the directorship of Alberto Bartalini.
