Paul Mpagi Sepuya

The solo exhibition at Galerie Peter Kilchmann, Zürich, features works by the artist Paul Mpagi Sepuya made between 2017 and 2018 and extracted from several ongoing projects of his. The pieces on show range from early pictures set in his bedroom, to series shot in his studio. All of Sepuya’s photographic practice revolves around the dynamics and relations built during portraiture sessions, with constant references to the artist behind the camera and the camera itself. The subjects are friends, fellow photographers and others from his intimate circle, with whom close connections are fundamental for the final work.
