Rob Pruitt: The Church

“Rob Pruitt makes art easy,” said New York fashion photographer Cris Moor. As a matter of facts, Rob Pruitt (* 1964, lives in New York City) has been playing with the concept of “art” and “easy” since the beginning of the 1990s. The Kunsthalle Zurich dedicates to the American artist a solo show that takes the unusual shape of an educational center and meeting place in the 500th anniversary of the Zurich Reformation: the church is a public place where people cross each other for many different reasons. This is why “The Church” doesn’t simply present an excerpt from Pruitt’s rich work, but also a series of events that will involve the audience in talks, concerts, workshops and discussions.
