Sonia Kacem: Carcasse

Galerie Gregor Staiger presents Sonia Kacem’s “Carcasse”: the exhibition comprises a number of large scale sculptural installations created with pliable materials such as fabric or large rolls of paper draped and folded so as to carry their own weight on the other hand, creates bodies using only skeletal structures. The sculptures are joined by flesh colored vinyl sheeting suspended from the gallery ceiling as if to indicate what is missing from the the objects or referring back to the artist’s more familiar practice.
