They Printed It!

They Printed It! Invitation cards, press releases, inserts and other forms of artistic (self-) marketing is an exhibition consisting of a public workshop for visitors and a research project in collaboration with the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK, the Institute for Art History of the University of Zurich, curating.org as well as Simon Baier, Michael Birchall, Martin Jäggi, Marianne Müller, Barbara Preisig, Christoph Schifferli, Dorothee Richter, Maja Wismer , and further interested contributors. Everyone is invited to participate and to create an online-archive from thousands of documents, which discusses and documents how artists, via invitations cards, press releases and inserts, have created cheap and experimental art works that can be understood as art, but also as self-marketing. After all, this is the logic of social media channels, such as Instagram: Everybody is an artist and the curator of his or her own self.
