Thinking Outside the Box
In 2016, Museum Haus Konstruktiv celebrates its 30th anniversary.
This occasion is marked by a critical appraisal of its constantly growing collection in the extensive presentation “Thinking Outside the Box: The Museum Haus Konstruktiv Collection (1986-2016) and Guest Interventions”.
In this show, which is supplemented with interventions by invited artists, the Museum also bridges the gap between art-historical heritage and the present day. Contemplating the approximately 100-year history of constructivist-concrete art, we look into the historical development of its ideas and the applicability of its central concepts in today’s world.
The exhibits from the collection include works by artists such as Max Bill, Andreas Christen, Eugen Gomringer, Camille Graeser, Raphael Hefti, Jeppe Hein, Marguerite Hersberger, Jahanguir, Verena Loewensberg, Richard Paul Lohse, Jill Magid, Haroon Mirza, Olivier Mosset, Carissa Rodriguez, Natale Sapone, Jesús Rafael Soto, and Victor Vasarely.
The guest interventions produce contextual shifts and breaks that enable the collection to be experienced from a new point of view.
