Zurich in Black and White

The presentation offers an overview of life in the Zurich of the past, through black and white photographies from the Fundus des Baugeschichtlichen Archivs, a historical photographic archive. “Zurich in Black and White” draws the picture of everyday working life in the past, showing both well-known and hidden or forgotten corners of the city, shops and factories. The pictures on view, some of which never exhibited before, also show the progressive changes of the urban space, such as the increasing number of industries in the peripheral zones, or the shops and factories arising in the streets of the city centre and the nearby areas.
