Art Basel 2019: Aggregate

Known for staging complex actions and live choreographies, Romanian artist Alexandra Pirici conceived “Aggregate” (2017– 2019), a performative environment for Basel’s Messeplatz, curated by Cecilia Alemani and presented by Art Basel. For this ongoing action, Pirici brings together over 60 performers that form a vast collective body, enveloping the viewers in intricate choreographies. Previously featured in Buenos Aires during the Art Basel Cities Week in 2018, this new iteration of “Aggregate” is staged in a temporary pavilion designed by Andrei Dinu.
