Beyond Photography

A curated selection of artistic practices that explore photography beyond its traditional boundaries, through experimental printing techniques and the shift from two-dimensional imagery to three-dimensional form.

The section brings together a range of approaches and highlights works that engage with and reconsider the possibilities of the photographic medium.

Novum

This section brings together works presented publicly for the first time, including new commissions created specifically for the fair, as well as previously unseen works—whether newly completed, recently discovered, or rediscovered.

United by the idea of a premiere, each work is presented to the photo basel audience for the first time.

Annabelle’s Choice

The magazine annabelle is a partner of the upcoming edition of photo basel. As part of this collaboration, the magazine’s picture editors select a number of works by female photographers, which are given particular prominence at the fair due to their subject matter or technique.

In Conversation

The fair presents a series of panel discussions on a range of topics, as well as artist talks with photographers whose works are featured in the 11th edition of the fair.
