Volta Art Fair fosters galleries in staging ambitious solo and group presentations, refining the experience to its essential elements: the artists and their work.
From June 13-19, Volta Basel will showcase carefully curated presentations of global contemporary art: 66 galleries from 25 nations are represented in Basel and offer a wide selection of artists and their work. Volta Art Fair brings visitors a cutting-edge showcase of current contemporary art trends. The 17th Volta Basel edition presents a strong international portfolio. Under the leadership of fair director Kamiar Maleki, who joined at the end of 2019, the fair focuses on developments in the international art market and promotes an exchange between galleries, artists, and art lovers alike. As a counterpoint, the 2022 edition features eight galleries from Switzerland, reflecting the strength of the regional art market and a dedicated focus on female artists. The presentations range from classic art forms like painting, sculpture, and photography, to a new and timely focus on NFTs and digital art.
