Art Dubai 2019: Bawwaba
The new section of the fair, Bawwaba (“gateway” in Arabic) features 10 solo presentations, showcasing works created within the last year or conceived specifically for the fair. Bawwaba features works by artists from, based in, and/or focused on projects about Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and Central and South Asia. French-Cameroonian curator Élise Atangana, curated the inaugural edition of Bawwaba (meaning gateway in Arabic), which presents works by individual artists from, based in, or focused on the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, Central and South Asia.
