Art Basel Hong Kong 2018: Audemars Piguet Collectors Lounge
Audemars Piguet presents the final lounge concept design by Chilean born, New York-based artist and designer Sebastian Errazuriz at Art Basel’s Hong Kong show, alongside new artworks by London-based, Italian artist Davide Quayola. Both artists’ work on the lounge derives inspiration from the Swiss watchmaker’s origins and will travel to the three Art Basel shows in 2018.
Errazuriz’s concluding design in the lounge’s trilogy is inspired by iron ore, the natural resource which started it all. His dynamic, immersive installation evolves from his two previous lounge concepts inspired by ice (in 2016) and wood (in 2017), the other core natural materials essential to the Vallée de Joux, home of Audemars Piguet in the Swiss Jura mountains. Similarly, Quayola’s large-scale photographic series and video installation will illustrate the Vallée de Joux with a modern, audiovisual take on landscapes today. Audemars Piguet’s engagement with Errazuriz and Quayola reflects the watchmaker’s ongoing, personal relationships with artists and collaborators, and its dedication to supporting craft and creative innovation.
