Salón ACME 2025
Founders: Base Proyectos, Archipiélago
Salón ACME is an art platform and event created by artists for artists, designed to give visibility, support, and exposure to emerging creators in Mexico and internationally. Since its inception in 2013, Salón ACME has hosted eleven editions, establishing itself as one of the most authentic contemporary art events globally, cultivating new audiences, and fostering a community of artists, curators, and collectors. The event features six sections: Open Call, Estado, Bodega, Projects, Sala, and Patio.
Open Call
The main exhibition is selected annually through an open call. A changing Curatorial Board, comprising artists, curators, academics, and gallery owners, reviews and selects the participants.
Estado (State)
This section highlights artistic and curatorial practices from different regions of Mexico. Each edition focuses on a selected state and invites a local curator to present an exhibition that reflects the region’s key artists, themes, and research.
Patio
Dedicated to large-scale installations, Patio is located in the central part of the venue and showcases sculptural or site-specific works. Each edition invites an artist to develop a new project.
Bodega
One of Salón ACME’s main sections, Bodega brings together a group exhibition curated by a national or international curator, featuring a diverse range of artists.
Projects
This section includes Mexican and international galleries, independent spaces, and residency programmes, with each space inviting one artist to present a proposal in a project room format, offering a snapshot of current artistic trends.
Sala
A curated section focusing on publishers, books, special publications, and rare titles. Sala celebrates the written word and the creative possibilities of editorial work.
