Art Basel Miami Beach 2025

Miami Beach Convention Center, 1901 Convention Center Drive Miami Beach

Art Basel Miami Beach 2025 brings together 283 galleries from 43 countries, offering a comprehensive overview of artistic production across the Americas within a global framework. Returning to the Miami Beach Convention Center from 4–7 December 2025, with Preview Days on 3–4 December, the fair continues to serve as a principal meeting point for Modern and contemporary art in the Western Hemisphere.

The 2025 edition highlights Latinx, Indigenous, and diasporic practices while reconsidering Modernism through a trans-hemispheric perspective that connects mid-century approaches with contemporary reinterpretations. This year’s edition reflects the multiplicity of artistic voices shaping the region today, an emphasis underscored by Vincenzo de Bellis, Art Basel’s Chief Artistic Officer and Global Director of Fairs.

At the same time, the fair advances its role as a platform for ambitious curatorial projects and cross-disciplinary exchange, guided by Bridget Finn, Director of Art Basel Miami Beach. Under her direction, the edition foregrounds research-led presentations, expands engagement with digital practice, and continues to strengthen connections across the Americas and the international art community.

Across its sectors — including Galleries, Nova, Positions, Survey, and Meridians — the fair presents Modern and contemporary works that span generations, geographies, and media. Additional programmes, such as Conversations, Zero 10, and the Art Basel Awards, further extend the fair’s commitment to artistic innovation and cultural dialogue.

Galleries
The Galleries sector, overseen by Art Basel’s core curatorial team, presents leading exhibitors from the Americas, Europe, and beyond. Bringing together 226 galleries, the sector showcases the full breadth of Modern and contemporary practice, ranging from museum-quality twentieth-century works to defining statements by emerging and established artists today. This year’s presentations emphasise both continuity and renewal, foregrounding global dialogues within Modernism and highlighting contemporary practices that explore materiality, identity, and environmental inquiry.

Kabinett
Kabinett, curated by the Art Basel team responsible for focused presentations, offers galleries the opportunity to stage distinct, self-contained projects within their booths. The sector deepens engagement with individual artists through concise curatorial statements. Spanning painting, printmaking, sculpture, and installation, this year’s Kabinett highlights approaches to legacy, material transformation, and the politics of form.

Meridians
Curated by Yasmil Raymond, Meridians serves as the fair’s curatorial centrepiece for large-scale, institutional-grade works. The 2025 edition, titled The Shape of Time, brings together a multigenerational and international group of artists whose practices examine how art materialises, suspends, or reconfigures temporal experience. Expanding on George Kubler’s concept of artistic development as a continuum, Raymond positions the works in Meridians as temporal conduits that reveal shared processes, correspondences, and aesthetic experimentation across different eras and geographies. Large-scale installations, immersive videos, and ambitious sculptures explore time as both a physical force and a social condition.

Nova, Positions, and Survey
Nova
Curated by the Art Basel Nova team, Nova focuses on works created within the last three years. The sector features 23 galleries presenting 22 tightly curated booths, many of them solo presentations. Nova continues to function as a key platform for identifying new trajectories in contemporary practice, with eight galleries joining the sector for the first time.

Positions
The Positions sector, curated by the team responsible for emerging voices, presents 16 galleries — including ten newcomers — each showcasing an ambitious solo project by a rising artist. The sector provides a focused encounter with forward-looking practices that consider materiality, perception, technological shifts, and post-human themes.

Survey
Survey, curated by Art Basel’s historical research team, features 18 galleries, 12 of which participate for the first time. The sector highlights practices of enduring art-historical relevance, from rediscoveries of overlooked figures to renewed readings of canonical artists. Survey emphasises cross-generational influence and the evolving contexts through which artistic legacies are reconsidered today.

Zero 10
Curated by Eli Scheinman, Zero 10 is Art Basel’s new global initiative dedicated to art of the digital era. Debuting in Miami Beach with the support of OpenSea, the sector brings together 12 international exhibitors and connects digital creators, studios, innovators, and established galleries within Art Basel’s global framework. Referencing the avant-garde spirit of Malevich’s 0,10 exhibition, Zero 10 establishes a new standard for presenting, contextualising, and collecting digital art. The initiative aligns with recent developments including the Digital Art Council, Digital Dialogues, and digital projects across Art Basel’s global fairs, while responding to sustained growth in the digital art market.

Conversations
The Conversations programme, curated by the team leading Art Basel’s public talks, convenes artists, curators, thinkers, and collectors for three days of live discussion from 4–6 December. Free and open to the public, the programme reflects Miami’s spirit of cross-disciplinary exchange. The 2025 edition focuses on themes such as the relationship between art and sport, the role of legacy and memory, and emerging forms of patronage. Opening day is dedicated to the intersections between artistic and athletic practices, examining shared dynamics of performance, endurance, and representation.

Art Basel Awards
The Art Basel Awards, developed by Art Basel’s global leadership team and presented in partnership with BOSS, celebrate excellence and innovation across the contemporary art ecosystem. Introduced in 2025, the Awards recognise practitioners and institutions demonstrating vision, skill, community engagement, and international impact.

This December marks the unveiling of the inaugural Gold Awardees, selected through a peer-driven process involving the year’s Medalists. The first Art Basel Awards Night takes place on 4 December at the Frank Gehry–designed New World Center in Miami Beach, supported by the City of Miami Beach and the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau. Each Awardee receives a handcrafted glass object designed in collaboration between Jacques Herzog and Glassworks Matteo Gonet, reflecting Art Basel’s origins and Basel’s legacy of craftsmanship.

Partner Activations
Art Basel’s partners across fashion, design, finance, hospitality, and technology present a dynamic programme of commissioned works, installations, and experiences within and beyond the Miami Beach Convention Center. Their contributions extend the fair’s commitment to cross-industry collaboration and cultural dialogue, animating both the show campus and the surrounding city.
