miart 2026

South Wing di Allianz MiCo, Allianz MiCo Gate 1 – Parco CityLife, Gate 2 – Viale Eginardo

Fiera Milano presents the 30th edition of miart, celebrating its history while opening to new horizons. Titled New Directions, in tribute to John Coltrane’s 1963 recordings, the fair draws on jazz as a model for innovation, transforming its identity starting with the new South Wing of Allianz MiCo, overlooking CityLife.

Featuring 160 galleries from 24 countries across three sections—Emergent, Established, and Established Anthology—it spans over a century of art. A renewed three-level layout combines historic sections and new perspectives, guiding visitors through a progressive discovery inspired by jazz improvisation.

Emergent
On the entrance level, this section curated by Attilia Fattori Franchini introduces the latest tendencies in contemporary art through a selection of 29 galleries from around the world, each engaged with experimental and research-driven practices.

Emergent brings together both established and newly participating galleries, with recent additions reinforcing its international scope. Across 26 exhibition projects, themes such as identity, memory, the body, social structures, and climate change are explored through a range of media, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, textile works, video, and photography.

Women artists play a significant role within the section, presenting solo presentations and newly commissioned, site-specific installations conceived for the fair.

Established

Located on Level 0 of the South Wing, this section presents 111 galleries spanning the 20th century to the present, combining modern masters, contemporary research, and collectible design.

The projects bring together different times, media, and lineages, including solo shows, generational dialogues, and thematic focuses. Painting, sculpture, installation, ceramics, and photography explore present-day transformations and diverse artistic perspectives.

Established Anthology

On the upper floor, 20 international galleries investigate cycles, memory, metamorphosis, and possible futures. The works create a dialogue between modern and contemporary practices, with thematic exhibitions, monographic focuses, and generational pairings.

The projects celebrate historical and contemporary figures, reflecting on time, space, and cultural transformation, treating art history as a living field of returns, reinterpretations, and anticipation.

Movements

This special project curated by Stefano Rabolli Pansera, is realised in collaboration with the St. Moritz Art Film Festival, presents 20 films by artists from 15 galleries, exploring the experimental language of video and artist film.

Titled “If Music”, it examines the relationship between music and cinema, where film becomes vibration, rhythm, and resonance. Organised in five movements—Matter and Landscape, Voice and Translation, Rhythmic Space, Choreography, and Rhythm of Work—the works show how sound shapes perception, space, and the body, offering a fresh way to experience image and sound.

Prizes

The fair presents a dynamic programme of awards and acquisition initiatives, recognising both emerging and established artists.

Key prizes include Fondazione Fiera Milano Acquisition Fund, Herno Prize, LCA Studio Legale Prize for Emergent, Orbital Cultura–Nexi Group Award, Matteo Visconti di Modrone Prize, SZ Sugar miart commission, Archivorum Publication Award, Rotary Club Milano Brera Award for Contemporary Art and Young Artists, and Massimo Giorgetti Prize.

Caffè Letterario

The Caffè Letterario is confirmed as the space that miart dedicates to reflection and cultural insight. A key point of reference for the presentation of artists’ books and for dialogue among leading figures in the contemporary art system, it offers a curated selection of editorial publications.
