SP-Arte 2017: Japan House

Curated by Marcello Dantas, the section is dedicated to a country with one of the most visual cultures in the world.
Japan house is showcasing landscape figures that rethink formats and platforms through a radical innovation of its practices and the exemplary multi-disciplinarity of its creators. To present this creative front of this such a contemporary nation, there is this year at SP-Arte a space that integrates the context of Japan House’s inauguration in São Paulo.

The articulating element of this space is the alternation between the Japanese obsession for precision and a little-known trait about its culture: a strong admiration for imperfection. On one hand, we have the urbanized, modern, technological country that appreciates mathematical and cerebral art; on the other hand, a more organic and delicate Japan.
