Caffè Mulassano

Nestled beneath the porticoes of Piazza Castello, Caffè Mulassano is one of Turin’s most charming historic cafés. Established in the late 19th century, it soon became a favourite meeting place for the city’s aristocracy and intellectuals. Its refined Art Nouveau interiors feature marble, bronze and gilded wood, creating an intimate setting that evokes the elegance of a bygone era. Coffee, rich hot chocolate, sandwiches and cakes are served on silver trays, inviting visitors to linger and savour the atmosphere. The café is also said to be the birthplace of the tramezzino, the classic Italian triangular sandwich.
