Dabass
Dabass is a bistrot and cocktail bar in Milan’s Porta Romana district, set inside an early-20th-century Liberty building on Via Piacenza. Opened in 2017 by Maddalena Monti, Andrea Marroni and Roberto Tardelli, it was conceived as a relaxed, slightly bohemian space where dining feels closer to being in someone’s living room than in a formal restaurant. The interior mixes vintage furniture, eclectic objects and dim lighting, creating a retro atmosphere that encourages guests to linger over food, wine and conversation.
In the kitchen, chef Andrea Marroni focuses on generous, flavour-driven dishes that draw on Italian comfort food with occasional Roman influences, often presented as daily specials rather than a fixed menu. The overall feeling is informal and convivial – part neighbourhood bistrot, part cocktail bar –built around the idea of welcoming guests “as if at home.
