Nimb Hotel

Nimb occupies the white Moorish-style palace on the edge of Tivoli Gardens, inaugurated in 1909 to a design by Knud Arne Petersen, Tivoli's director at the time and an architect. It opened as a hotel in 2008, and in 2017 the new Tivoli Corner wing by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners added 2,000 square metres, including a rooftop terrace and an underground wellness area.

The 38 rooms and suites are each decorated differently, combining antiques and original artworks with the clean lines of Danish design. Most face the Gardens, and many have four-poster beds and either an open fireplace or a private balcony. Art runs throughout the hotel. Cathrine Raben Davidsen's murals, based on the Greek myth of Philomela and Procne, cover the walls of the Nimb Bar, and her lithographs hang in several suites. Prints by John Loring, Tivoli illustrations by Richardt Branderup, the Gardens' head designer from 1968 to 2002, and Harry Benson's photographs of Tivoli complete the collection.

Nimb Brasserie serves French cuisine overlooking the Gardens, while Fru Nimb specialises in open sandwiches and classic Danish dinners. The Nimb Bar serves cocktails and afternoon tea, and the hotel's own pastry kitchen restocks Cakenhagen with freshly baked cakes every day. On the roof, Nimb Roof offers a heated, emerald-green pool and a pool bar with views over Tivoli and the city. Below ground, the 300-square-metre Nimb Wellness has a Moroccan hammam, a steam room, a relaxation lounge and treatment rooms.
