Bvlgari Hotel London
Bvlgari Hotel London opened in 2012 on Knightsbridge, close to Hyde Park, in a building designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. The façade is clad in Portland stone and bronze, the materials of London’s great public buildings, and inside the guiding theme is silver, a reference to Bvlgari’s origins as a silversmith. Two solid silver chandeliers hang beneath the dome of the ballroom, and the silk headboards in the bedrooms take their pattern from a nineteenth-century silver brooch by Sotirio Bulgari. The rooms and suites take their cue from nautical travel, with polished mahogany, Marquina marble bathrooms and a minibar set inside a leather trunk. Spread over two floors, the spa is finished in Vicenza stone and centres on a 25-metre pool lined with green and gold mosaic. The Bvlgari Lounge serves Italian pastries by Gianluca Fusto and afternoon tea, while Sette by Scarpetta brings New York-Italian cooking to Knightsbridge. The V&A and the Royal Albert Hall are a short walk away.
