Château Voltaire is the culmination of a deeply personal project by Thierry Gillier, the founder. With the goal of giving back to Paris some of the magic that the city has given him, Gillier envisioned a place that would embody everything that makes the French capital unique: deep historical roots, a sense of beauty and indulgence, the art of celebration, the joy of meeting people, and an elegance that permeates everyday life.

An avid traveler with an insatiable curiosity, Gillier gathered aesthetic and emotional inspirations from his numerous journeys. His dream took shape as a hotel where guests from around the globe could mingle with a lively Parisian crowd, creating an atmosphere filled with conviviality, discovery, and surprises. Located in a charming neighborhood, Château Voltaire is a testament to true hospitality, offering guests a sense of home while sweeping them into a whirlwind of unique encounters and experiences.

To bring this vision to life, Gillier entrusted the artistic direction to Franck Durand, who carefully assembled a team of talented individuals capable of interpreting the project’s unique vision. Among them, the architectural duo Festen stands out for their expertise in blending history with modernity. Over the years, the team expanded, incorporating creative minds who contributed to the realization of Chateau Voltaire.

The property includes the Émil restaurant, the La Coquille d’Or bar, and 32 rooms spread over five floors, each with its own unique design. From the refined apartment under the eaves to the intricate details of the interiors, every space reflects the joy of being together and celebrates the beauty of life and Paris.

Château Voltaire unites three buildings dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, serving as both a tribute to and a contemporary reinterpretation of Parisian architectural history. Its main façade, a listed historical monument, stands as a testament to the eclectic architectural style that inspired the designers. This balance between past and present makes Chateau Voltaire a symbol of elegance and innovation, a place where history and modernity blend in perfect harmony.
