The story of the Amour family began with the Hôtel Amour in May 2006, in the Pigalle district of Paris’s 9th arrondissement.
At that time, three friends – Emmanuel Delavenne, Thierry Costes, and artist André Saraiva – discovered a private mansion in need of renovation, just a stone’s throw from rue des Martyrs. They decided to turn it into a unique and welcoming place in their own image, which has now become a Parisian classic, Hotel Amour.
Here, all the furniture is collected. The furniture has been ‘hunted’ over the years by antique dealers, auction houses and flea markets, and is the work of the great decorators of the 1930s to 1950s. Contemporary art photographs and erotic montages hang on the walls.
After the success of Hotel Amour., the opening of a second, larger house was an obvious choice. When they decided to create the Grand Amour hotel in November 2015, in the 10th arrondissement, the three friends used their experience and creativity to build a legendary place. Artists, people from the fashion industry, Parisians, families and travellers meet there, day and night…
In 2019, they set sail for Nice to open their third establishment, in the Fleurs district, 200m from the Negresco.
The Hôtel Grand Amour, located in the heart of the Faubourg St-Denis district just off the Grands Boulevards, combines the best of both worlds.
*42 unique rooms with luxury bedding.
*Some rooms are decorated by artist friends: Sophie Calle, Olivier Zahm, Claude Ruteau… And the others by our collections of photos, paintings and signed furniture.
*On the top floor, a flat (the Apartment) with a breathtaking view over the rooftops of Paris.
*All the furniture is collected here, and the walls are adorned with showcases of objects.
*Hot water on all floors, bathrooms with baths, double showers and Italian taps.
*A full-service restaurant that recaptures the legendary spirit of Parisian brasseries, featuring local produce.
*You can have a coffee, listen to Fip Radio, there’s a bar from the 1930s, wood panelling, display cabinets and collector’s books. And a courtyard for cigarettes. At the back is an aquarium with model ships. A back door leads to the BookBar, a library and sound system area where you can drink until the end of the night.
* Le Grand Amour welcomes an artistic and avant-garde clientele.
