Lao Siam
A Belleville institution serving authentic Laotian and Thai cuisine since 1985.
Founded nearly four decades ago by a Thai-Laotian family, Lao Siam has become a landmark of Southeast Asian cuisine in Paris. Now run by the three Souksavanh brothers, this warm and bustling neighborhood restaurant showcases the culinary traditions of Laos and Thailand, celebrating their shared heritage while highlighting each country’s unique flavours.
Everything is prepared on site with meticulous care, from signature dishes like crying tiger with spicy sauce, thadeua nem (crispy Lao rice salad), and tom kha soup to the delicate red ruby dessert in coconut milk. The menu is both generous and authentic, offering a true taste of home-style Southeast Asian cooking.
