Bayt Sharq
Bayt Sharq is housed in the restored Al Khulaifi heritage house, a century-old residence just off the Corniche that offers a rare glimpse into Old Doha. The setting feels immersive and atmospheric, with multiple dining areas spread across a leafy courtyard, veranda seating, private cabanas, and a main dining room.
The kitchen focuses on classic Qatari cooking, serving generous, full-flavored dishes such as mutabbel, majboos, and saffron-scented mahalabia. While the restaurant is open all day, breakfast is a highlight, with set menus that showcase both traditional Qatari plates like balaleet and lamb liver, and broader regional staples including falafel, foul, and zaatar fatayer. Combining heritage, hospitality, and authenticity, Bayt Sharq feels less like a restaurant and more like a living historical space.
