Punta Trieste
The Punta Trieste refuge, located in the Dolomites of South Tyrol at 2,028 metres above sea level, offers a stunning panoramic view of the Dolomites.
The host is Willy Costamoling, an exceptionally eclectic personality who describes himself as an extreme mountaineer, paleontologist, skier, and alpine rescuer. This rustic refuge in Corvara, Alta Badia, is primarily a beloved meeting point and stopover for hikers and skiers.
The cuisine at the refuge is distinctly mountain-based: simple, hearty, and made with the finest quality ingredients. The menu is centred around the specialties that have always set it apart, such as skillet pasta, succulent ribs, hearty shanks, and Nebraska steak. Homemade desserts are also a real treat. The secret to the flavour lies in the family recipes, passed down from generation to generation.
Equal care is given to the wine selection, which prioritises the best international and national labels, with a particular emphasis on South Tyrolean wineries. In winter, to optimise service, a fixed menu is maintained, while in the more relaxed summer months, the offerings are more flexible, featuring creative daily specials and room for special requests or off-menu dishes.
