Maizajo offers a distinctive dining experience that celebrates corn at the heart of Mexican cuisine. While the downstairs taquería is lively and standing-room only, the upstairs restaurant invites guests to sit back and enjoy a more relaxed meal in an industrial-chic setting.
Guests are welcomed with tostadas and a spicy habanero and pepita salsa before exploring the menu by chef Santiago Muñoz Moctezuma, which highlights thoughtful, ingredient-driven dishes rooted in tradition and creativity. Standout plates include the oven-roasted blue corn tostada with avocado purée and raw yellowfin tuna dressed in black sesame oil and soy, as well as the tamal de boda – a vegetarian corn tamal filled with stewed poblano chile, leeks and chard.
