Cascina Cuccagna
It is located in the Porta Romana area and is an eighteenth-century farmhouse that has been restored to public use. Abandoned for many years, it has been transformed into a meeting place, thanks to the initiative of a network of citizens and associations: the Associazione Consorzio Cantiere Cuccagna (ACCC).
Cascina Cuccagna reopened its doors in 2012, following a conservative restoration. Since then Cascina Cuccagna has gathered around it people, organisations and businesses that make up the Cuccagna Community and that develop projects and activities linked to sustainable lifestyles, healthy food, urban agriculture, the circular economy, the rediscovery of know-how and cultural and social integration.
Inside Cascina Cuccagna there are:
La Fioreria – flower and plant shop and cultural association
Four Seasons – nature travel agency
Il Cucinista – creative cooking workshop
In other spaces, Cascina Cuccagna promotes initiatives and projects, such as the Cuccagna Farmers’ Market, and hosts public and private events that contribute to the collective life of the community.
As you pass through the main door, you will be greeted by two large courtyards, a large garden, a lawn, fruit trees, a peacetime vegetable garden and herb beds.
