Erba Brusca
A garden with kitchen just outside Milano
Erba Brusca is a charming restaurant with a private garden on the right bank of the Naviglio Pavese, where the city begins to fade into the countryside, offering a bucolic setting that almost makes you forget you’re in Milan. The space has been designed by rgastudio, reflecting the spirit of the restaurant: natural materials, attention to details, the colours of the garden and many bottles of wine on the walls in a bookcase that reinterprets the shape of fruit boxes.
In the kitchen is Alice Delcourt, a young Franco-American chef who uses only seasonal products from carefully selected, organic, and short-supply-chain suppliers. The Brusco Garden grows aromatic herbs and traditional Lombard vegetables, which often take center stage in the colorful dishes, sometimes accompanied by meat and fish. The menu changes weekly, according to what and in what quantities the garden has to offer–a necessary choice for a restaurant that is committed to uphold its sustainable and waste-free philosophy.
