Horto

A standout in Milan’s fine dining scene, offering a unique blend of sustainability, seasonality, and ethical cuisine

Led by Norbert Niederkofler, a Michelin three-star chef renowned for his commitment to responsible cooking, Horto brings his philosophy to Milan with a menu that celebrates locally sourced ingredients, many of which come from within an hour’s radius of the city. This approach to “zero waste” cooking is central to the restaurant’s ethos, ensuring that every dish not only delights the palate but also respects the environment.

The restaurant’s location is as impressive as its cuisine. Situated on the top floor of The Medelan, Horto offers panoramic views of Milan, from CityLife to the Vertical Forest and the Duomo. Inside, the atmosphere is sleek and modern, with natural wood tables and intimate niches, alongside a chef’s table where guests can watch the culinary team in action. The kitchen’s dedication to sustainability is evident in every detail, from the 100% no-waste approach to using exclusively lake fish and water from refined rather than bottled sources. The interiors reflect the same mindful approach, incorporating reclaimed materials and sustainable design choices.

Horto’s menu offers two tasting options, both designed to showcase the freshest seasonal produce from local artisans and farmers. For a more flexible dining experience, guests can mix and match dishes from both menus.

The restaurant has also earned a prestigious Green Michelin Star in recognition of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and ethical practices, making it one of Milan’s most forward-thinking fine dining establishments.
