La Bettola di Piero
A historic trattoria a few steps from Porta Romana, Milan.
Far from really being a “bettola” (a shabby tavern), La Bettola di Piero has preserved the authentic feel of a traditional Milanese trattoria, complete with multicolored ceramic tile floors, a classic 1960s wooden bar, and checkered tablecloths that perfectly capture its nostalgic spirit.
The menu is a delightful journey through classic Italian dishes with a focus on Milanese tradition, such as vitello tonnato, faraona croccante, costoletta alla milanese, risotto alla milanese, rustìn negà (stuffed roast veal), and comforting homemade classics like gnocchi di patate and zuppa di zucca e castagne (pumpkin and chestnut soup). There’s also a selection of hearty dishes like trippa, cervella fritte (fried brain), and horse tartare, as well as a well-loved tiramisu for dessert.
