Ronin
A multi-sensory adventure, combining flavours, design, and music in a celebration of contemporary Japanese culture.
Ronin is not just a restaurant, but an immersive experience spread across four meticulously designed floors within a neo-liberty building in Milan’s Sarpi district. The space, a blend of art and design, offers a visual feast, with elements ranging from neon lights and mirror walls to vintage lounges and swirling staircases. Each floor creates its own unique atmosphere, thoughtfully designed to captivate and transport guests into parallel worlds.
The ground floor houses Piccolo Ronin, a vibrant cocktail bar and izakaya with a special “listening bar” for music enthusiasts. The first floor features Ronin Robata, dedicated to the Japanese robata grill, offering delicious grilled meats, fish, and vegetables. Madame Cheng’s awaits on the second floor: a chic cocktail bar accompanied by four karaoke rooms, including one with a lap dance pole. The top floor is Arcade, a private space requiring membership for access.
The culinary offerings mirror the diversity of the spaces. From Piccolo Ronin, where an open kitchen serves gyoza, ramen, yakitori, and bao, to Ronin Robata’s specialized robata menu, each venue brings a new facet of Japanese cuisine to life. Signature cocktails at Piccolo Ronin include innovative mixes with ingredients like wasabi and tea, while Madame Cheng’s offers high-end drinks and bento boxes in a lively karaoke setting. Prices range from affordable dishes at Piccolo Ronin to upscale cocktails and dining experiences on the higher floors.
Born from five years of careful planning and development, House of Ronin embraces a non-stereotypical vision of Japan, offering a futuristic Tokyo experience in the heart of Milan. The concept was realised in a historical building that once housed Milan’s Martinitt Orphanage and Casa Verdi. The four floors of Ronin guide visitors through a vertical journey, each floor distinct in theme yet connected through a tapestry of cultural references, with design and cuisine that evolve from one space to the next.
