Sant Ambroeus Milano
Sant Ambroeus is a historic café-restaurant in central Milan, just steps from Teatro alla Scala. First opened in 1936 by two pastry chefs, it quickly became a refined meeting place for the city’s intellectual and cultural circles, known for cappuccino, pastries and light Milanese dishes.
Today the restaurant continues that tradition as an elegant all-day venue, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner alongside its classic pasticceria. The menu combines Italian staples—pasta, salads and traditional Milanese plates—with a strong focus on desserts and baked goods prepared in-house.
Recently restored and redesigned, the space preserves the feel of a historic Milanese café while presenting a polished, contemporary interior. The overall atmosphere remains that of a city “salotto”: a place for coffee, lunch meetings or a relaxed dinner in the heart of Milan.
