Café Mātēr

The new café-restaurant, Café Mātēr, is entrusted to Studio Carbón by Sabrina Goldin and Stéphane Abby (the duo behind Carbón , Carboni’s, Cantina, Asado Club and members of the international collective New Makers) who are known in the restaurant industry for creating contemporary and avant-garde places. They are committed to bringing cultures, natural and urban environments into dialogue in a collective dynamic.

With Café Mātēr, the duo renews the genre of the museum café with simple, healthy, local and green gourmet cuisine imagined by young chefs. Throughout the day, regulars of the Marais district and visitors to the Fondation can take a break over fresh dishes and pastries in keeping with the seasons. This proposal is also expressed through a beautiful list of natural wines, original artisanal drinks and carefully selected coffees – all to be enjoyed surrounded by the works of artists of the moment and bathed in the architecture of the legendary Rem Koolhaas.

Café Mātēr is the place to be in the Marais to stroll and enjoy art, culture and new flavours. Another good reason to come and return: a programme of tastings and other surprises that reinvent the gastronomic experience !
