Albania 2017

Leonard Qylafi represents Albania at this year’s Venice Biennale. The project is titled “Ndodhi në kohën e tashme – It Happened at the Present Time” and it was selected among five other projects, after an open call by the Albanian Ministry of Culture, and by an international jury.

The project evolves around  the concept of translation: his paintings, some of which will be produced specially for the exhibition, highlight the fragile status of the image as a container of the past.
