Title: Love as a glass of water
Commissioner: Blendi Gonxhja, Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation
Curator: Antonio Grulli
Artist: Iva Lulashi
Iva Lulashi‘s art showcases love and instinct as a universal language, the primary force that connects humans to the world.
For the Albanian Pavilion, she analyzes the “Theory of the glass of water,” which dates back to the pre-revolutionary period in Russia and is associated with the revolutionary feminist thinker Alexandra Kollontai.
According to this theory, sexual impulses should be viewed as simple human needs to be fulfilled as easily as drinking a glass of water—an idea that had a significant influence in Russian artistic and literary circles.
