Argentina 2018
Vértigo Horizontal | Vertigine Orizzontale | Horizontal Vertigo
Title: Vértigo Horizontal | Vertigine Orizzontale | Horizontal Vertigo
Commissioner: Ambassador Mauricio Wainrot
Curators: Javier Mendiondo, Pablo Anzilutti, Francisco Garrido, Federico Cairoli
Horizontal Vertigo proposes a cross-cutting dialog between geographical spaces, places and architecture. It is an invitation to rethink our territory as a collective construction, and see architecture in its capacity to convey unexpected generosity in every project.
The exposed works reflect, on a horizontal and always open structure, our architecture’s commitment with the principles proposed by Freespace. The collection focus on projects produced since Argentina’s return to democracy, in 1983.
Sketches are chosen by its quality of primitive and visceral documents, capturing the act of thought engraved by hand and showing only the essential, without artifices, where the richness of ideas prevails and conveys founding identity to every architectural project. Every sketch shows the binding connections, apparent or imagined, that Horizontal Vertigo perceives between architecture and society.
