Australia 2025
Title: Home
Commissioner: Australian Institute of Architects
Exhibitors: Michael Mossman, Emily McDaniel, Jack Gillmer-Lilley, Kaylie Salvatori, Clarence Slockee, Bradley Kerr, Elle Davidson
The Pavilion offers an immersive experience rooted in Indigenous knowledge and architectural innovation. It conceptualises “home” as memory, sensation, relationships, and future, integrating natural and artificial elements with a focus on sustainability, community, and deep connections to Country.
The “Country Sphere” invites visitors to engage with earth, sound, and tactile elements, contributing to the Living Canvas, a fusion of ancient traditions and contemporary technology. Augmented reality enhances the experience, bridging physical and digital realms.
Indigenous leaders Mossman, McDaniel, and Gillmer, joined by Clarence Slockee, Kaylie Salvatori, Elle Davidson, Bradley Kerr, and global ambassadors, curate cultural programming featuring storytelling, performance, and hands-on exchanges.
“Home” emphasises ethical, sustainable practice, ensuring materials return to Country and challenging traditional exhibition norms. Aligning with the Biennale’s theme—”Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.”—it advocates for Indigenous-led architectural innovation, inspiring future generations towards culturally and environmentally sustainable design.
