The exhibition focuses on hands-on maintenance, reusing resources already present in the building.
Title: Build of Site
Commissioner: Kent Martinussen – Danish Architecture Centre
Curator/Exhibitor: Soren Pihlmann
The exhibition in the Danish Pavilion focuses on hands-on maintenance, reusing resources already present in the building. It showcases hyper-local methods for reclaiming materials, presenting the process as both technical and aesthetic—an ongoing work in progress.
A comprehensive study of the Danish Pavilion has been conducted to enhance the usability of its existing materials. By combining these with unconventional bio-based binders, the exhibition explores how advanced technology can support the use of bio-based and recycled materials. This approach highlights the potential of surplus materials previously considered waste, demonstrating a new architectural practice that utilises and draws inspiration from on-site resources.
