The Hungarian Pavilion highlights architects who have moved beyond traditional practice, applying their expertise in new fields often overlooked by market-driven architecture.
Architecture is both a creative process and an economic force, yet today’s industry prioritises profit over cultural impact. Architects are increasingly constrained by market demands, leading to a homogenised built environment and the erosion of their creative role.
However, architectural knowledge extends beyond construction. The pavilion explores alternative career paths, demonstrating that architects can create more than just buildings. “There Is Nothing to See Here” is a critique, a rebellion, and a fresh perspective on architecture today, embracing the idea that no is more.
The exhibition recreates an abandoned yet once-prestigious studio, where architects develop successful projects outside their profession. It is structured around three themes represented by an RGB colour scheme: red for participants, green for their projects, and blue for student reports on the state of architecture, gathered from Hungarian universities.
