Tapesh: The Golden Reserve of Magmatic Thought
Tehran born artist Bizhan Bassiri, has been chosen by
Majid Mollanoroozy, Commissioner and Curator of the Iranian Pavilion, to represent Iran at the 57th Venice Biennale.
Tapesh, The Golden Reserve of Magmatic Thought, on view at Palazzo Donà Dalle Rose, is a polyphonic composition, a symbolic deposit of works illustrating, through the diversified forms of its art, a unique concept: the Magmatic Thought of the artist is like a volcano that, in its catastrophic activities, provokes the transformation of matter. Bassiri creates plastic, poetic inventions combining Iranian and European tradition, mythologies with contemporary issues.
