For the 59the Venice Biennale, Israel presents Ilit Azoulay‘s “The Queendom“,a multidimensional spatial entity reigned by art, spilling out of the digital realm into the premises of the Giardini. The project addresses intersectional questions of cultural appropriation, the sovereignty of art, and transregional histories.
For “Queendom“, Azoulay is creating a series of large-scale panoramic photomontages and a collaborative sound installation. The space will engage visitors through multiple modes of understanding, including architectural interventions that transform the existing pavilion space.
