Italy 2021
Resilient Communities
Title: Resilient Communities
Commissioner: Onofrio Cutaia, Direttore Generale Creatività contemporanea, Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali e per il Turismo
Curator: Alessandro Melis
The Italian Pavilion 2021 takes shape through a subtraction / integration action. All the waste material produced during the last biennale are reused for new purposes. The project is a unique opportunity to study the life cycle of a creation born with a resilience approach. For this same reason, multimedia supports are used inside the pavilion to describe the selected projects, minimizing the canonical means of expression and communication.
Creativity, redundancy and associative thinking play a central role in conceiving and reinventing the architecture of the future.
The catalog has the same ecological and sustainability characteristics of the set-up project thanks to the use of recycled paper.
To cope with the carbon dioxide emissions produced on this occasion, a sufficient number of trees will be planted to compensate for this amount of carbon dioxide.
In addition, a binding will be adopted without the use of glues, through the use of the Japanese binding technique
