The Land Remembers presents a fictional Ministry of Land Intelligence dedicated to healing ecocide and documenting intentional environmental destruction. It asserts that before architecture, there is land—and architects must take an active role in its protection.
Addressing Lebanon’s environmental crisis, the exhibition highlights the devastation caused by war, urbanization, and political instability, including the toxic legacy of white phosphorus in 2024. More than an exhibition, it is a call to action, urging architects to become activists in restoring damaged landscapes. By framing the pavilion as an activist ministry, it advocates for urgent intervention, emphasising that architecture must not only rebuild but also heal, ensuring a sustainable future for both humans and non-humans.
