Title: No Need To Sparkle: Experiments in Love and Revolution

The group exhibition features newly commissioned screen-based and multimedia installations by Adrian MM Abela, Charlie Cauchi, and Raphael Vella. The title is derived from Virginia Woolf’s essay, “A Room of One’s Own”.

The project draws upon historical and conceptual material to explore themes of protest history, prehistoric mythology, identity, and the film industry. By juxtaposing myths and contemporary media, the exhibition examines how reality is understood in an era of fractured narratives and shifting world orders. The works incorporate large-scale sculpture, hand-drawn pieces, live-action film, and stop-motion animation to create layered fictions and melting storylines.

“No Need to Sparkle” addresses the search for truth within a landscape of continuous news streams and rising global temperatures. It responds to these present-day realities by embracing the concept of ‘doubting well’. The installations lead visitors into uncertain terrain, intended as a space for question, reflection, and illusion regarding perception and belief systems.
